Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our one of our thriving mainstream primary schools. In this role you will work 1:1 with a student in year 5 who requires additional support in managing their behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Your role will be instrumental in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for the students, helping them to overcome challenges and succeed academically.

Responsibility:

Provide 1:1 mentoring and support to a student in year 5 with SEMH

Develop and implement individualised behaviour management plans in collaboration with the schools SNCO and teaching staff

Build a strong and trusting rapport with he pupil, encouraging them to have a positive attitude and to engage in learning

Work closely with the schools’ SENCO, teachers and parents to monitor and provide feedback on  the pupils progress

Implement interventions and strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

 Requirements:

Previous hands on experience as a Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role, preferably in an education setting

Have relevant qualifications or training in managing challenging behaviour

Have a strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Inclusion practices
