Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3 Teaching Assistant to provide support in a mainstream primary school with an Ofsted rating of ‘good.’ This school is situated in the London Borough of Haringey and is committed to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect and encouragement for all students, regardless of their background or abilities.

Responsibilities of the Year 3 Teaching Assistant role include:

• Collaborating with the class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, maintain organisation, prepare engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum, and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Leading numeracy, literacy, and reading interventions in small groups to improve student attainment.
• Providing one-on-one support to children with additional needs as required.
• Approaching the role with a can-do attitude and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on students’ academic lives.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 months of prior experience supporting students in a classroom setting.
• Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is advantageous.
• A level 3 qualification, such as CACHE level 3, or a degree in a relevant field is desirable.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Availability for full-time and long-term employment.
• Ability to provide an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of the right to work in the UK, and two professional references.
