As a Learning Support Mentor you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and social development of pupils.

• You will be responsible for providing one to one support to pupils who require additional support with their learning
• You will need to assist the class teacher in developing and implementing learning plans for students; setting achievable goals and  monitoring their progress
• You will need to adapt teaching styles and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
• You will also be required to facilitate small group sessions to reinforce classroom instruction and assist pupils in learning essential skills
• You will need to work closely with the class teacher in managing challenging behaviour in and around the classroom

Must have:

• You must have an enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• You will need to have two obtainable childcare relevant references
• You will need to have a Minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children in a care, residential, school or social setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children
• An understanding of diverse learning needs and strategies to address them
