Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school located in Worcester Park and they are recruiting an experienced Learning Support Assistant. The ideal candidate will need previous experience working with SEN and be able to maintain a full time-long term role, starting immediately.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with special needs, including children with autism.
- Assist in implementing individualised education plans and behaviour intervention plans.
- Help create a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the wellbeing and progress of each individual.
- Assist with daily activities, such as personal care, mealtime, and recreational activities.
- Support individuals in developing and improving their communication skills
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs
- Knowledge f special education principles and practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with individuals with special needs
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours

- Brilliant at supporting younger children
- Very opened minded, friendly and approachable
- Good understanding of challenging behaviour
