We are seeking an Experienced Learning Mentor to join one of our mainstream primary schools on a full time, long term basis with an immediate start. The school is located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Brockley, it is close to an underground station and has a number of bus stops in close proximity, making commute easy.

Must have:

• A clear enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Experience supporting children in a classroom setting or tutoring
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math (Educated to degree level is desired but not essential)

Responsibilities within this role:

• You will be working across KS2 leading core subject interventions both 1:1 and in small groups
• You will be responsible for liaising with class teachers to provide feedback on pupil progress as well as ensuring pupils are receiving work that meets their academic needs
• You may have to undertake administrative duties such as marking work and photocopying/laminating worksheets

Requirements:

• Experience supporting children in a classroom setting or tutoring
• A strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A ‘Can do’ attitude towards work
• Patience and resilience
