Our partnered mainstream primary school based in Clapham are searching for a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to join one of our schools in South-West London. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide support to students with special educational and physical needs. Job role: The role involves supporting students with Social, emotional & behavioural difficulties and physical needs primarily pupils on the Autistic spectrum. This is a role of working within primary education and could be as a teaching assistant, 1:1 or 2:1 basis.

Responsibilities:

• Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN/physical needs
• Assisting teachers in the delivery of lessons and collecting materials as needed
• Supporting students with physical and personal care, as required
• Monitoring and recording student progress and conferring this to teachers and parents
• Attending team meetings and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

• Recent Graduate
• Someone who is extremely passionate about working with pupils with special needs
• Experience working with students with SEN, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
• Excellent communication and relationship skills
• A patient and supportive approach
• Great location easily commutable from all over London
