Learning Mentor | Catford Hill | Mainstream Primary School
Here at Ortus Recruitment we are working with an inclusive and vibrant Mainstream Primary School who are seeking a Learning Mentor to join their tight knit staff team, and lead both 1:1 and small group interventions with pupils across KS2 who need additional support in core subjects.
As a Learning Mentor in KS2 you will play an important role in providing targeted support to the pupils, helping to encourage a positive attitude to learning and to provide a nurturing learning environment.
Job Summary:
- £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
- Full time, Long term, Ongoing throughout the academic year
- General Teaching Assistant/Group Intervention Lead
Requirements:
- A clear enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
- Experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting or similar experience in a care, social or residential setting
- Two obtainable childcare relevant references
- A genuine interest and passion for working alongside children, helping to develop their academic and behavioural attainment levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Roles and Responsibilities within this role:
- You will be required to support pupils across KS2, leading both 1:1 and small group interventions on core subjects
- You will also be assigned to a class and you will be required to undertake General Teaching Assistant duties alongside the class teacher
- You will be responsible for implementing strategies to manage and improve behaviour
- Liaise with the class teachers, SENCO and parents/carers to provide feedback on pupil progress
