The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Year 6 Learning Support Assistant to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The schools we work with are Ofsted rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘, provide training and CPD courses to ensure career progression and offer consistent support and motivation. We are currently recruiting for a Year 6 Learning Support Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Camden.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in Year 6 as well as adept knowledge of the KS2 curriculum to effectively engage children in lessons and interventions in order to raise attainment and prepare pupils for SATs. You will also be expected to be a role model for pupils, help to create a positive learning environment and foster excellent behaviour.

Job Role:

This is a Year 6 Learning Support Assistant position, therefore we are looking for someone who can have a firm but fair approach , act as a role model and manage behaviour effectively. Key responsibilities:

• Providing one-on-one or small group support to SEN pupils
• Assisting with classroom activities, including planning and preparation
• Promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
• Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for all pupils

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for education and helping pupils achieve their full potential
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
