Year 6 Teaching Assistant | Hillingdon
We are currently recruiting for a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
You will play a fundamental role in helping them develop their personalities and minds by exposing them to ideas and experiences that will help them gain a solid grounding in the world.
***This role pays £80 – £95 per day PAYE (depending on qualifications and experience)***
The ideal candidate will have experience working in Year 6 as well as adept knowledge of the KS2 curriculum to effectively engage children in lessons and interventions in order to raise attainment and prepare pupils for SATs. You will also be expected to be a role model for pupils, help to create a positive learning environment and foster excellent behaviour.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Provide support to students one-to-one and also in small groups
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies
Expectations:
- Previous experience working with children
- Knowledge of tutoring and mentoring techniques
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children
