The team at Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Learning Support Mentor to prepare children with additional needs for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. You will play a key role in helping them develop their personalities and minds by exposing them to ideas and experiences that will help them gain a solid grounding in the world.

Role: Learning Support Mentor

Job Type: Full-time, Long-term, Term-time

Location: Hampstead, LB of Camden

Start Date: January 2023

Learning Support Mentor Responsibilities:

• Manage behaviour effectively
• Support on a 1:1 basis with SEN pupils
• Lead interventions to raise attainment
• Support emotional, social and academic development
• Monitor progress through targets
• Safeguarding/working alongside SENCo
• Working alongside classroom teacher
• Building nurturing attachments and fostering trust

Learning Support Mentor Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related qualification
• Experience working with SEN
• Firm but fair approach
• Behaviour management experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
