A large, welcoming academy are looking for a full-time class teaching assistant to join their team to support within year 5 from January 2024.

The Role

In this role you will be based within a year 5 class in the school. You will be based within the class to provide learning support to pupils working at all levels. Your role will include supporting the teacher with administrative duties, preparing lessons and activities and covering break duties. In the afternoons you will be delivering maths/phonics/literacy interventions, teaching small groups of students. In these sessions you will cover topics learned in class the previous week to support those children who had gaps in their learning. This is an excellent role for a graduate who is looking to go in to a career as a primary teacher as you will gain direct teaching experience alongside whole class support.

The Academy

This large all-through academy is based in Croydon, with good local transport links and a popular choice for families in the local area. In this specially designed building pupils have the opportunity to grow and develop with facilities specifically designed for younger children, but with the benefits of the resources of the attached secondary academy. There is a strong leadership team in place within the primary academy and staff and pupils enjoy a smaller, community atmosphere. There are good opportunities for professional development across the academy including teacher training so this is a great option for graduates and those looking to further their career in education.
