ORTUS RECRUITMENT are looking for a resilient and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide extra support in a mainstream classroom to a child with Special Educational Needs.

You will be responsible for helping them to understand and complete their school work, as well as providing emotional and behavioural support. You will need to be patient, empathetic and an excellent communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and their families.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification and/or have experience working with SEN children in a primary school setting. You will also be expected to maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, whilst keeping up to date with school policies and procedures.

**Candidates must be able to commit to a long-term and full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm)**

The ideal candidate will:

• Have 3+ months experience supporting children with SEN
• Have the ability to build positive and reliable rapports with pupils and staff
• Have a can-do attitude and firm but fair approach to teaching
• Hold a level 3 qualification or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education
• Be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
