The Job Role:

• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Dulwich
• Role: Full Time, Long Term

Here at Ortus Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at one of our vibrant Mainstream Primary Schools,located in the London Borough of Southwark, Dulwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping these pupils achieve their full potential.

Main responsibilities within this role:

• Working with individuals (1:1) or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom to support their learning and progress
• Work alongside the class teacher to plan and prepare lessons. As well as supporting the delivery of said lessons
• Monitor and record the pupils’ progress and provide feedback to both the class teacher and the pupils parents/carers
• Help to create a stimulating and safe learning environment for pupils
• Undertake administrative duties, such as photocopying/laminating worksheets, as well as marking work/homework and signing reading diaries.

The successful candidate will have:

• Relevant experience working alongside children (SEN children desired, but not essential)
• A good understanding of child development and the barriers to learning that pupils with SEN may face
• The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• A positive and flexible approach to work
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
