Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for those who are enthusiastic about working in education and supporting SEN children, particularly those with Autism and Speech and Language needs. You will be working 1:1 with an Autistic child in a Year 3 class. The school boasts a supportive senior leadership team and a welcoming atmosphere that promotes growth and development for both learners and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to children
- Assist the class teacher with daily tasks
- Support the whole class as needed
- Care for children during break times
- Manage challenging behavior
- Foster relationships with parents
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
- Experience working with children with Autism/ADHD
- Natural enthusiasm for working with young children
- Ability to monitor and record a child’s progress
- Understanding of safeguarding children
- Positive, caring, energetic, can-do attitude
