  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Role Overview

Join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, supporting children with Autism and Speech and Language needs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of SEN children. You will be working 1:1 with an Autistic child in a Year 3 class within a welcoming and supportive school environment.

Responsibilities

  • 1:1 Child Support: Provide dedicated support to an Autistic child in Year 3.
  • Classroom Assistance: Aid the class teacher with various tasks.
  • Whole Class Support: Help support the entire class when needed.
  • Childcare During Breaks: Look after children during break times.
  • Behaviour Management: Handle challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Parent Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with parents.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Passion for SEN Support: Genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Experience with Autism/ADHD: Prior experience working with children with Autism or ADHD.
  • Enthusiasm for Education: Natural enthusiasm for working with young children.
  • Progress Monitoring: Ability to track and record a child’s progress.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of child safeguarding practices.
  • Positive Attitude: Energetic, caring, and can-do mindset.
