SEN Teaching Assistant

We are in search of a compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our partnered inclusive school based in Streatham. This role involves offering personalized support to students with additional needs, both individually and in small groups. Essential qualities include patience and a nurturing disposition.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, both individually and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalized learning plans.
  • Monitor and report on students’ progress and adapt support strategies as necessary.
  • Help create and maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support students with physical disabilities, if applicable, including mobility and personal care needs.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff to ensure consistent and effective support.

Requirements:

  • Recent Graduate
  • Teaching Assistant certification or relevant qualifications (desirable).
  • Prior experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Additional training in SEN or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques and educational best practices.
