A welcoming and vibrant Primary School in Clapham is on the lookout for a caring and proactive 1:1 Classroom Assistant to start immediately. This full-time position involves supporting a lovely young girl in a Reception class who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Role:

• One-to-one support for a Reception pupil with ASD, helping her engage in classroom activities and make steady progress.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Encouraging independence, communication, and confidence through positive reinforcement and consistent support.
• Creating a calm, safe, and stimulating learning space to meet the child’s individual needs.

About You:

• Naturally warm, patient, and energetic with a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Previous experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting.
• Able to adapt support methods depending on the child’s needs and progress.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young learners.
• Knowledge of ASD and experience in a 1:1 support role is highly desirable.
• Must hold a current enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
• Must be available full-time with no notice period.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience supporting children in early years or primary education.
• A passion for inclusive education and helping children thrive.
• Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine care for the wellbeing of students.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are a plus but not essential.
