Ortus Recruitment are looking for a 1:1/Group Classroom Assistant to work in a fun, friendly and warm mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

The chosen applicant will be athletic, kind, bubbly and empathetic and ready to make a different in children’s lives and advance in their career in the education sector.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons
• Engage in 1:1 and group session with children
• Help children with their homework or class tasks
• Set up and clean the classroom throughout the day
• Support children with their physical, mental, emotional and social health
• Communicate with other teachers, parents and all the children
• Carry out administrative tasks like preparing resources for the teacher and help with filing and printing etc.
• Help when necessary, with after school clubs and activities
• Support SEN children in groups or 1:1 as well

Requirements:

• Experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred (3-6 months)
• Experience working with SEN children (preferred)
• Passion for working with students with diverse needs
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to difficult situations and behaviours.
