The Job Summary:

• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are looking for a 1:1 Learning Mentor to join one of our thriving mainstream primary schools, located in the London Borough of Southwark, Dulwich. They are seeking someone who is passionate about working alongside children and are dedicated to aiding the academic development of pupils who need additional support, mainly in core subjects. The school has a modern building and boasts vast outdoor space for pupils as well as a car park and large staffroom for staff to use during short breaks and lunch breaks throughout the day.

The Requirements:

• You will need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent – Essential
• You will need to have experience working in a school or supporting pupils either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• You must be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to raising their academic attainment level in core subjects
• You will need to be passionate about working with children and have a kind and nurturing nature

YOU MUST HAVE TWO OBTAINABLE CHILDCARE RELEVANT REFERENCES

YOU MUST HAVE A CLEAR ENHANCED CHILD WORKFORCE DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE OR BE WILLING TO PROCESS ONE THROUGH ORTUS RECRUITMENT – £52

Within this role you will be required to work closely with Class Teachers across Year 3 – Year 6 identifying pupils who may need additional support in core subjects, you will then need to assist in creating differentiated work that suits the individual learners needs. You will be tasked with working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils, working to raise their academic attainment level. You will need to collect the pupils from class and escort them to the library ensuring calm behaviour in the corridors. You will need to encourage the learners to engage in learning and provide a stimulating learning environment for them.
