1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking for the opportunity to support children with SEN to improve attainment levels and aid in their development?
Ortus Recruitment are looking for a resilient and positive individuals to take on the role of 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in an Ofsted rated ‘good‘ SEN Primary School in Hayes – a popular destination for commuters, with excellent transport links to central London. The town is home to a number of shopping centres and several parks, including the Hayes Common Nature Reserve.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs while being consistently aided and encouraged by the Senior Leadership Team and fellow staff members, with the potential to progress on to a Teacher Training programme if deemed an ideal candidate.
Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:
- Have a nurturing and empathetic approach
- Lead 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. phonics, numeracy and literacy
- Encourage participation from SEN pupils and support them where necessary
- Engage students confidently and help them raise attainment
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the pupils at all times
Main Expectations:
- 3+ months experience supporting children with SEN
- Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education
- Strong numeracy, literacy and communication skills
- Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
