Ortus Recruitment are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant who can work 1:1 with an Autistic child in KS2. This is a hybrid role where your day will be split between working with the class as a whole and also on a 1:1 basis when required.

You will be joining a thriving primary school in London Borough of Ealing. It is a mainstream Primary school, with a recent “Outstanding” Ofsted report, and boasts a fantastic reputation in the local area.

This SEN Teaching Assistant with 1:1 Autism is:

• A Long Term, Full-Time position
• Based in West Acton, London Borough of Ealing
• Based in a Successful primary school
• Must know the KS2 curriculum
• Starting immediately
• Pays £85.00 – £115.00 per day (PAYE) based on experience

This vacancy is designed for a proactive and reliable graduate or somebody who holds a Level 3 Teaching Qualification and has previously worked with SEN children.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant with 1:1 Autism, the successful applicant will support the progress of a Year 3 pupil who is diagnosed with Autism and is high functioning. The support will be academic, social and developmental. In other parts of the day, you will be working with the rest of the classroom, helping the teacher plan and prepare lessons.

SEN Teaching Assistant with 1:1 Autism requirements:

• Hold a level 3 teaching qualification or be degree educated
• You must have previous experience supporting young people with Autism / ASC
• You will need to be resilient, patient and adaptable to a dynamic and changing environment
• They expect all staff to contribute and promote a fun, caring, relaxed and safe environment for staff and pupils
• Ideally you will have 3-6 months of prior experience as a Teaching Assistant
