1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
An inclusive mainstream primary school are currently seeking an enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, a welcoming mainstream primary school located in the Battersea area. Your role will be instrumental in providing essential support to a child with ADHD, ensuring their success in an inclusive learning environment. This position is a full-time and is an amazing opportunity for a candidate with experience supporting children with ADHD previously.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a student with ADHD, ensuring they receive tailored assistance to thrive academically and emotionally.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to implement individualized learning plans and strategies.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the student’s social and academic growth.
- Implement techniques and interventions to manage ADHD-related challenges and enhance the student’s focus and engagement.
- Monitor the student’s progress, document achievements, and adjust support strategies as needed to ensure their success.
Requirements:
- Recent Graduate
- Experience working with children with ADHD or SEN in an educational setting is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or related fields are preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping children with ADHD reach their full potential.
- An adaptable and proactive approach to support, with the ability to think creatively and problem-solve effectively.
