Ortus Recruitment is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partnered primary school located in the heart of Balham. Committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment, we are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to support our pupils with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum.
- Collaborating with class teachers and SENCO to implement and adapt learning resources to meet the individual needs of students.
- Supporting students in developing their social and emotional skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording the progress of students, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related field.
- Proven experience working with children with a range of SEN in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of every child.
