We have a phenomenal opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant! This role is in a mixed Primary and Secondary SEN provision, to work 1:1 with a pupil who has ASD. This role, as advertised, is temp to perm, meaning if the school are happy with your performance you will be asked to interview directly with the school, and then be offered a contract if you are successful.

The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and they provide a diverse and inclusive learning environment for their pupils, working off of a semi formal curriculum and assisting the pupils in following their individual timetables.

The Job Requirements:

· You must have experience supporting SEN Learners, either in a care, residential, school or social (coaching, nannying or tutoring) setting

· You must be patient and resilient within this role, not taking things personally and able to think quick on your feet as well as being able to display quick problem solving skills

· You must have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential). Must have a minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math (Essential)

· You must be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to aiding their social, emotional and mental development

· You must be able to build a positive rapport with both pupils and staff helping to maintain the amazing environment in the school

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE TWO OBTAINABLE CHILDCARE RELEVANT REFERENCES

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A CLEAR ENHANCED CHILD WORKFORCE DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE OR BE WILLING TO PROCESS ONE THROUGH ORTUS RECRUITMENT – £52

The Main Responsibilities within this role:

· You will be required to work alongside the Class Teacher and work 1:1 with an ASD pupil in Year 3

· You will be required to support the pupil in occupational/speech and language therapy sessions with the in school professionals

· You will need to liaise with the Class Teacher, the SENCO, the Therapists and the Parents/Carers to ensure the pupil is receiving the necessary support

· You will be required to ensure the pupil follows their individual timetable and reward them with enrichment activities where necessary

· You will need to supervise the pupil in class, in the corridor, in the playground and in the lunch hall, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
