1:1 Teaching Assistant

We work with a number of schools, all rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘ by Ofsted, with supportive senior leadership teams and opportunities for further career progression.
We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience who can support a pupil with ASC on a 1:1 level in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Camden. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have SEN and behaviour management experience and are looking for a challenging but rewarding role.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment for the 1:1 pupil. They have a diagnosis of ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) therefore require someone who can set boundaries, build a trusting relationship and implement effective strategies to aid in academic and social development. When not you are not required to support on a 1:1 basis,your general classroom responsibilities will include;
- managing behaviour effectively
- liaising with parents/carers
- monitoring progress through targets
- safeguarding/working alongside SENCo
- working alongside classroom teacher
- building nurturing attachments and fostering trust

Requirements for the role:
- Good understanding of National Curriculum
- Behaviour management
- SEN experience
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative
- Good communication skills
- Nurturing and patient approach
- Competent literacy and numeracy skill
Details about the role:
- Mon-Fri, 8:15am – 3:45pm
- No weekends
- Term time
- Long-term
- £400-£500 per week (PAYE)
- Potential to be placed on teacher training programme
