1:1 Teaching Assistant

Ortus Recruitment is looking to recruit a resilient and proactive individual for the rewarding role of Teaching Assistant to support and encourage a child who exhibits challenging behaviour.
Candidates must be able to commit to a long-term, full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm), starting in September 2024.
The Role: The successful candidate will have a firm but fair approach and will be passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of children with additional needs. You will work on a 1:1 basis with the child and handle Teaching Assistant responsibilities, including managing classroom behaviour, keeping the classroom organised, and leading small group interventions.
Individuals with mentoring experience or behaviour management experience in a school setting are ideal!
Main Expectations:
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Experience working with SEN children
- Must provide: an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK, and 2 references
