Ortus Recruitment is partnering with a warm and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth, currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with learning difficulties. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the child access the curriculum, build confidence, and make meaningful progress across all areas of learning. This is a full-time, long-term role starting with a trial day after the October half-term break, with the opportunity to continue through to July 2026 for the right candidate.

Role Overview:

• Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (KS2)
• Location: Wandsworth
• Start Date: Trial day after half-term
• Contract: Full-time, long-term (until July 2026 if successful)
• Daily Rate: £89 – £105 per day (PAYE), depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with learning difficulties, adapting resources and support as needed
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated activities
• Support the pupil during lessons, small group work, and targeted interventions
• Reinforce speech, language, and communication targets where appropriate
• Monitor and record progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCo
• Contribute to maintaining a calm, positive learning environment
• Support general classroom tasks and provide additional assistance to other pupils when needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working in a primary school setting
• Confidence supporting children with SEN, particularly learning difficulties and speech & language needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively 1:1 and as part of a team
• Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing, positive approach
