Ortus Recruitment is delighted to offer an excellent opportunity to join a thriving primary school in the Streatham area. The school is seeking a new Autism Spectrum Behaviour Mentor to provide one-to-one support for pupils who have autism spectrum disorders and who require extra help with their emotional and behavioural needs.

Job Description

In this role, you will work 1:1 with pupils who have challenging emotional and behavioural needs, as well as support students in small groups. Your primary aim will be to overcome any learning barriers and to help the pupils reach their full potential. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Applicant Specification

• Experience of working with children, preferably with Autism Spectrum.
• A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant degree
• Excellent knowledge of behaviour management is essential
• Experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Ability to build effective relationships with children and staff
• Able to be a strong role model and a reliable point of contact for children
