SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & Sensory Support (Year 4)

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A friendly primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 4 pupil with Autism, helping them access learning in a structured and supportive environment.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism and sensory processing difficulties.
• Use visual schedules and sensory-friendly strategies to support learning.
• Implement calming techniques to help with emotional regulation.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities.
• Encourage social interaction and confidence in communication.

About You:

• Experience supporting children with Autism and sensory needs.
• Understanding of sensory integration strategies.
• Patient, calm, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
