Autism 1:1 Teaching Assistant – KS1 | Ealing Broadway

We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding primary school in Ealing Broadway. This is a full-time role Monday – Friday, educating and supporting a student with autism on a 1:1 basis, as well as supporting the mainstream class.

The successful candidate will have:

• A deep understanding of autism
• Previous experience of working with students with special needs
• Knowledge and experience of implementing strategies to support students on the autistic spectrum
• The ability to use effective communication strategies to build relationships with students
• A track record of working with students, teachers and other staff in a primary school setting
• A passion for education and an ability to be flexible

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing individual education plans
• Mentoring, tutoring, and providing support and advice to the student on the autism spectrum
• Assisting the student to develop their social and communication skills
• Assisting the student in their independent learning
• Supporting the student in the classroom and other activities
• Working closely with other teachers and staff to ensure a safe learning environment
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson plans and preparation
• Supporting the student’s overall wellbeing
• Personal care
