Autism Learning Support Assistant (ASC LSA) | Sutton | Immediate Start | Fulltime

Ortus Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA), with a proven track record supporting autistic pupils, to join a well-regarded Primary school located in the Sutton area.

The role would involve supporting pupils with ASC both in the mainstream and school’s Autism Base, ideal the school are looking for someone who can commit for the entire academic year at a daily rate between £80 and £90 per day.

This is a well-resourced, and well established ASC provision that opened a number of years ago alongside a superb primary school, to work support vulnerable ASC pupils in the Sutton area, they have an EYFS, KS1 and KS2 class.

Requirements –

• Experience supporting ASC.
• Experience in an education setting (Primary age range Preferable).
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of PECS and Makaton.
• Strong Academic background (Degree Preferable).
• Proactive, committed and reliable.
• Physical restraint training – E.G. Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE (Desirable).

You will be working as a support staff member working throughout the school and provision providing additional support to those pupils who need it most throughout the day. You will have support and guidance from expert SEN professionals, including an extremely supportive and welcoming SENCO and Head of Provision.
