Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist provision in the London Borough of Lambeth, supporting children and young people aged 7 to 18 with Autism. The school is seeking a committed and compassionate Autism Support Assistant for an immediate start. This is a full-time, long-term role within a specialist setting that offers a structured, supportive environment and a strong focus on staff development and pupil wellbeing.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils aged 7–18 within a specialist Autism provision
• Working with small class sizes and tailored learning programmes
• Assisting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in education
• Supporting both academic learning and social development
• Working closely with specialist teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
• Helping to maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with Autism or SEN (essential)
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills (a degree is desirable but not essential)
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
• Genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
