Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced mainstream primary school in Kingston, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team following the upcoming half-term break. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting a small group of children in Year 3, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive both socially and academically.

Role Overview:

• Position: Autism Support Teaching Assistant
• Location: Kingston
• Start Date: After October half-term
• Contract: Full-time, long-term (until the end of the academic year)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, during school hours
• Daily Rate: £89 – £105 per day (PAYE), depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support to a small group of pupils with Autism, both within the classroom and through small group sessions
• Assist in planning and delivering tailored interventions to support individual needs
• Help adapt classroom resources and tasks to ensure accessibility for all pupils
• Support children’s emotional and social development alongside their academic progress
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and families to provide consistent, effective support

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children with Autism, ideally within a primary school setting
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning and behaviour
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
• Confidence in delivering small group interventions and supporting pupils’ progress
