ORTUS RECRUITMENT are seeking an Autism Support worker to join one of our lovely mainstream primary schools located in Honor Oak. The school have an amazing staff team who are warm and welcoming to new staff coming into the school. You will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced and motivated Senior Leadership Team who will be on hand to deal with any enquiries you may have.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working alongside Autistic learners in different classes throughout the school. You will be required to work 1:1 and in small groups to help improve their personal, social and academic development. You will need to liaise with the class teacher in order to prepare differentiated tasks and activities that suit the pupils needs. You will be responsible for feeding back information about the pupils day to both the teacher and parents/carers, highlighting what the child is doing well and what may need to be improved.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Will have experience working alongside SEN learners, ASD desirable but transferrable skills and experiences are also welcome.
• Will have an eager and enthusiastic approach to work
• Will have a strong academic background
• Will be able to build a positive rapport with pupils and staff members
• Available to work Full time, Long term

This school have a number of sports orientated enrichment programmes running at the moment, with the school having a number of different sports teams competing in different leagues including a girls Monday Night Football League and Lewisham Schools Swimming Gala, they also do their own internal sports competitions including speed jumps which gives children the opportunity to win accolades, awards and prizes.
