Ortus Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a fantastic mainstream primary school based in Wandsworth, who are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting pupils who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, senior leadership, and pastoral team to promote positive behaviour strategies and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning space. This will be a full time roll starting from September 2025 for the successful candidate and our partnered school will be hosting trials before the end of the academic year.

About the Role:

  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in KS1 or KS2
  • Working across classes to promote engagement, routine, and consistency
  • Building strong relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation and self-confidence
  • Assisting with classroom management and de-escalating behavioural incidents when necessary
  • Supporting restorative conversations and promoting a positive school culture

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children who present with behavioural challenges
  • Be confident, calm, and consistent when managing behaviour
  • Be passionate about inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and pupil success
  • Be proactive, resilient, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ideally have a background in youth work, sports coaching, psychology, or SEN
