Behaviour Mentor

Ortus Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in the Battersea area that is seeking a full-time Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately. This role is well suited to graduates, Teaching Assistants, or Learning Support Assistants who are passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, while helping them develop positive habits both in and out of the classroom.
Key Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with behavioural needs, ideally within a primary or SEN setting
- Ability to remain calm and confidently de-escalate challenging situations
- Some experience working with older students is beneficial
- Availability to start right away
- Ability to commute reliably to Battersea
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide behaviour support to pupils during lessons, break times, and structured activities
- Assist pupils with their learning, especially in core subjects like Maths, English, and Science
- Contribute to targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes
- Previous experience in a Behaviour Mentor role is advantageous
- Training such as Team Teach is useful, though not essential
