Behaviour Mentor
Ortus Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our partnered primary school situated in Streatham. The successful candidate will work one-on-one with primary school children who experience Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them develop the skills and strategies they need to be successful in the classroom. This is a full-time position with hours Monday-Friday. (08:30am – 16:00pm)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to children with SEN to improve behaviour, social skills, and academic achievement
- Create and implement individualized behaviour support plans for students
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure continuity of support for students
- Monitor and document student progress regularly and make adjustments to support plans as needed
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child’s progress
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with primary school children with SEN
- A degree or relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and ability to apply them effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to undergo a full Enhanced DBS check
