Behaviour Mentor

Ortus Recruitment are seeking for an experienced Behaviour Mentor with experience working with special educational needs and challenging behaviour to support our partnered school based in Streatham Hill. The school is a specialist school that caters children aged 3 – 11 years old with a range of needs. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who seeks a career within education and have only worked with children voluntarily. Also this is a great opportunity for recent graduates who want to develop experience within a classroom, which will be beneficial as the school will offer teacher training to candidates who want to develop in the field and become a teacher!

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with their emotional and social development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting good conduct
  • Building positive relationships with students and parents
  • Developing and implementing behaviour strategies in line with school policy

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a core subject (Maths, English, Science, Psychology, Drama)
  • Experience working 1:1 or in groups with students with special needs (desirable not essential)
  • Experience working with children in a school setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage behaviour and maintain discipline in the classroom
  • A commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people
  • Must be able to get to Streatham Hill within 45 minutes
