Behaviour Mentor
Ortus Recruitment are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our team in a school based in Southfields, specifically to work with a KS2 class. As a Behaviour Mentor in this specific mainstream primary school, you will work with the class to manage their behaviour in the classroom, to help them to succeed both academically and socially. This role will be particularly suitable for a candidate who is an experienced Behaviour Mentor with a sporty background or coaching experience. (preferred but not essential)
Responsibilities:
• Working with a KS2 class to provide behaviour management support
• Developing and implementing behaviour management plans in collaboration with the class teacher
• Liaising with parents, carers to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management at school
• Monitoring and tracking the progress of students, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and senior leaders
Requirements:
• Experience working with primary school students with challenging behaviour
• A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions, including positive behaviour support and restorative approaches
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
• A strong commitment to inclusive education and supporting the needs of all students
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Coaching qualification, a degree in psychology or counselling, or equivalent experience
