We are currently looking for a Behaviour Mentor to provide support in our client primary school in Barnet.
A fantastic SEN school in Brent is looking for a long-term and full-time Behaviour Mentor to assist with managing challenging behaviour and support children with SEMH/EBD.
The is the perfect opportunity to gain invaluable experience supporting children with their development and work in collaboration with dedicated and experienced practitioners who will encourage you every step of the way.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering learning programmes to pupils aged 5-11 with behaviour difficulties. You will need to have an understanding of behaviour theory and an ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and other practitioners. You must have the ability to identify individual needs and create effective strategies to support pupils in the classroom.
Those with the following experience, would be ideal:
- Behaviour mentor
- Sports Coach
- Learning Support Assistant
- Youth Worker
- SEMH/EBD experience
Role summary:
- Supporting children presenting SEN, behavioural needs and SEMH needs
- Knowledge and experience using de-escalation strategies
- Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health issues
- Must be patient, resilient and have a firm but fair approach
- Ability to enforce boundaries and stay consistent
- You will be supported by another Learning Support Assistant
- Prior experience dealing with severe behavioural needs and supporting SEN children
