Behaviour Mentor.

Location: Croydon

Salary: £80-£95 per day (PAYE)

Ortus recruitment are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work inside a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This school is highly reputable within the local area and are looking for somebody who can work 1:1 with a child who is 10 years old. The child you’re working with has Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, you’ll be tasked in helping him with his learning and social skills. He’s un-able to attend mainstream school due to his behaviour however he is ready to create a bond with somebody who is ready to help him. You’ll need to have a good understanding of children with behavioural difficulties, being very patient and understanding with him day to day.

The school has received great reviews from staff who have previously worked there, the current staff are experienced professionals who are ready to help you develop your skills and make sure that you have a strong understanding of the children you’re working with. They have great resources that you can use to create new and innovative activities for the children to help them become interested in the learning environment you will be in.

You’ll be tasked with also interacting your child with others in group activities, you’ll help the class teacher create a classroom environment making creative lessons for the children. Most of the time you’ll be of curriculum, meaning that you will be regularly taking your child out to play games (football and other sport activities).

In this role you’ll be working Monday-Friday, between the times of 8:30am to 4:00pm. This is a full-time, long-term role which has great potential of becoming permanent depending on performance.
