This is an amazing opportunity to be at the fore-front of children’s learning and development while being consistently aided and encouraged by the Senior Leadership Team and fellow staff members, with the potential to progress on to a Teacher Training programme if deemed an ideal candidate.
Individuals with any of the following experience is ideal:
- Behaviour mentor
- Sports Coach
- Learning Support Assistant
- Youth Worker
- SEMH/EBD experience
Role summary:
- Supporting children presenting SEN, behavioural needs and SEMH needs
- Knowledge and experience using de-escalation strategies
- Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health issues
- Must be patient, resilient and have a firm but fair approach
- Ability to enforce boundaries and stay consistent
- You will be supported by another Learning Support Assistant
- Prior experience dealing with severe behavioural needs and supporting SEN children
Main Expectations:
- 3+ months experience supporting children in a classroom environment
- Strong numeracy/literacy skills
- Strong behaviour management
- Knowledge of the curriculum
- Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
