We are working with a Mainstream Primary School who are seeking an Experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their tight knit staff team and support a pupil in Year 1, who has challenging behaviour. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and they pride themselves on the positive working relationship amongst staff and the diverse and inclusive working environment for pupils.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE TWO OBTAINABLE CHILDCARE RELEVANT REFERENCES
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A CLEAR ENHANCED CHILD WORKFORCE DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE OR BE WILLING TO PROCESS ONE THROUGH ORTUS RECRUITMENT – £52
The ideal candidate for this role will need to have experience managing challenging behaviour, ideally in a school but we will accept transferrable skills and experiences such as supporting children or vulnerable adults/young people in a care, residential, school or social (coaching, nannying, tutoring) setting. The ideal candidate will need to be patient and resilient, as well as be able to display quick problem solving skills and being able to think on your feet. A ‘Can do’ attitude is necessary within this role.
Within this role, you will be responsible for supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis, supporting them in class and around the school building. You will need to liaise with the Class Teacher, the SENCO and the parents/carers to ensure the learner is receiving the necessary support. You will be tasked with working alongside the class teacher to create differentiated work and provide feedback on the pupils academic and behavioural progress.
