Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Brixton. This school has a “Good” Ofsted rating and boasts a dedicated senior leadership team who are committed to providing the necessary resources to support vulnerable pupils.

Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to students with challenging behaviour. You will work closely with a Class Teacher to adapt to their teaching style and support the child with their learning according to their individual needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity for career progression in a primary school setting with a welcoming and supportive team. The working hours are from 08:30am to 16:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

• A graduate of a core subject (such as Maths, English, Science, Psychology, or Drama)
• Experience working with children in a professional environment
• Experience working with SEN (desirable)
• Ability to develop positive relationships with young children
• Strong commitment to working as part of a team and ensuring progress of children is monitored and tracked
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to provide regular feedback to class teachers
• Ability to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour
