Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join one of our unique clients, An All Girls Secondary Behavioural School. The school have a tight knit staff team and are looking for someone who is able to come in and be able to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and students. The students in this school have SEMH/Challenging behaviour, so we’re seeking someone who is patient and resilient.
The Job Information:
- Position: Behaviour Mentor
- Pay: £21,000 – £23,000 Per annum (FTE), Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Location: Southwark, Camberwell
- Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is able to commit to full time, long term work. This position is a September start date but interviews are being held now. This role is not a Zero hour contract, this is an immediate permanent contract position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Working as part of the Teaching & Learning Support team under the direction of the SENCo, you will
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher to support the management and organisation of teaching and learning in the classroom (form group based)
- Assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
- Promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
- Contribute to the personal and academic progress of all students to enable them to become independent learners and help to raise the standards of achievement for all students.
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Empathy and understanding of students needs
- Ability to maintain a professional manner in challenging situations.
- Experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities (desirable)
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
- A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
- A ‘can-do’ attitude.
- A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
