Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an Experienced Behaviour Mentor to join one of our Mixed Primary and Secondary SEN Provisions. We are looking for someone with proven experience of working alongside SEN learners or managing challenging behaviour.

The Job Role:

• Position: Behaviour Mentor
• Pay: £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella company fees
• Location: Forest Hill
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The requirements:

• Must have experience working alongside SEN learners in a care, residential, school or social setting
• You need to be patient and resilient within this role
• You need to have a natural passion for working with children and a dedication to helping them develop life skills
• You need to be able to build a positive rapport with pupils and staff
• You need to have two obtainable relevant childcare references
• You need to have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment

Main Responsibilities:

• To assist the Class Teacher in supporting a small Year 3 class which consists of 8 pupils (ADHD, ADD, ASD, SEMH)
• To help the Class Teacher maintain positive behaviour and help the pupils to engage in learning
• Liaise with the Class Teacher, SENCO and Therapists to ensure the pupils are receiving necessary support
• Provide pupil progress and feedback to Parents/Carers
• Work alongside the Class Teacher to ensure the pupils are following their IEP’s
