Job Summary:

• Mainstream Primary School
• £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Full time, Long term – Ongoing throughout the entire academic year

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are working with a Mainstream Primary School in the London Borough of Lewisham. The school are seeking an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their fantastic staff team on a full time, long term basis, with an immediate start.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment for the students.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing behaviour intervention strategies for students who have challenging behaviour
• Work both one to one and in small groups, leading interventions with challenging pupils
• Liaise with the class teacher, SENCO and parents/carers to ensure pupils are receiving the necessary support and to provide feedback on pupil progress
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills, responding to and managing behaviour crisis’ when they arise, and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils within the school
• Assisting the class teacher in preparing individual behaviour support plans and implementing the plans with pupils

Must have:

• An enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

Requirements:

• Previous experience in behaviour intervention/management and working with children in a childcare setting
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to easily build positive rapports around the school with both staff and students
• A passion for working with children and a commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
