Behaviour Mentor TA
Do you have a passion for supporting students with special educational needs?
Ortus Recruitment are looking for a knowledgeable and efficient individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for experienced TAs or graduates who want to gain first-hand experience with a view to future teacher training.
Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with selected students with needs such as Dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, and physical disabilities
- Support small groups in mainstream classes and inclusion workspace
- Prepare specialist material for small group interventions
- Supervise Homework Club at the end of the school day
- Run therapy sessions as part of students’ EHCPs, including dog mentoring sessions
Ortus Recruitment cater mainly to long-term and full-time roles and candidates must be available for an immediate start. (No part-time placements available).
Requirements:
- Graduate of a core subject (Maths, English, Science, Psychology, Drama)
- Experience working with children in a professional environment.
- Experience working with SEN (desirable not essential)
- Able to develop positive relationships.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour.
Please Note: We welcome applicants with degrees beyond this or relevant qualifications for working with children.

Candidates will need to be available for an immediate start, with no notice period as you will need to be available for a trial day with the school.
