Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school in Wimbledon and they are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to commit to a full time – long term role. The ideal candidate should have more than a years’ experience working with children, specifically SEN.

The role :

• Position : Behaviour Mentor
• Location : Wimbledon
• Full time – long term
• Immediate start
• PAYE £80-£90
• Monday – Friday (8:30am-4:00pm)

Within this role you will be developing and using strategies to support students with challenging behaviours, and helping them stay focused during lessons. You will also be responsible for monitoring progress in improving behaviour and maintaining improvements that have been made. You should also make sure you are liaising with parents regarding behaviour incidents and find ways to solve these issues.

The ideal candidate should:

• Must have experience working alongside SEN learners in a care, residential, school or social setting
• You need to be patient and resilient within this role
• You need to have a natural passion for working with children and a dedication to helping them develop life skills
• You need to be able to build a positive rapport with pupils and staff
• You need to have two obtainable relevant childcare references
• You need to have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment
