Behaviour Support Assistant – Primary School (Edgware)

We are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a primary school based in Edgware. This is a full-time role supporting a child with behavioural needs, including managing outbursts and disruptive behaviour, and helping them to engage positively in their learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with behavioural challenges
  • Manage disruptive behaviour calmly and effectively
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and self-regulation
  • Support teaching staff in delivering tailored support plans
  • Act as a positive role model within the school environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (sports coaching, youth mentoring, or similar backgrounds are highly desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine interest in supporting children’s social, emotional, and educational development

  • Location: Edgware
  • Contract: Full-time, term-time only
